For Art All Night: Made In DC, engage in an outdoor festival atmosphere as you walk past street art and street performers to get to the next open air lot destination, exuberant with all the ways we CREATE, BEAT THE STREET, PLAY, GLOW, FASHION, TO GO, and are OUT & ABOUT! #allthewaysweART #NorthCapontheMap

VENUE 1: Creative Grounds – 1822 North Capitol St. NW
TITLE OF EVENT: #All the ways we CREATE
TIME: 7- 11 PM
 
Explore artwork on display or get henna body art and mingle with the artists at the future home of “Creative Grounds DC” a new coffee bar, offering studio and exhibition space and art classes in the Bloomingdale neighborhood of Washington, DC. Bring your kids by for art activities and workshops offered by Creative Grounds DC.

VENUE 2: “Arts & Beats on the Streets” – 1700 North Capitol St. NW – 1727 North Capitol St. NE

TITLE OF EVENT: #All the ways we BEAT THE STREET
TIME: 7pm – midnight
 
At each corner of the intersection at Randolph St. and North Capitol catch a variety of street art and street performances from Youth Dance groups to rock and funk musicians as well as live painting and mural art. Feel as though you’ve stepped on a scene of Piccadilly Circus, the famous street art scene in London. If you’re hungry, the infamous neighborhood favorite, Jam Doung Style Cuisine, will be open until late.

DC’s rising star, SP the Plug, has artwork in some of DC’s best restaurants. Don’t miss his Live Acrylic painting and featured gallery right off the street corner overlooking the Capitol.

VENUE 3: The Florida Ave. Lot – 1600 North Capitol St. NW

TITLE OF EVENT: #All the ways we PLAY & Welcome Center
TIME: 7 pm – 3 am
 
This concept was inspired by a desire to create a space, in the midst of the changing landscape of our city, where all members of our community felt included and connected through an artistic experience. An otherwise abandoned and ignored space will be revitalized and transformed into a creative playground. Be engaged through interactive art installations envisioned to bring members of the community together through encouraging creative collaboration. This place will give people the opportunity to feel engaged and simply express themselves creatively in a whimsical “playground” environment that liberates their inner child. It will be art therapy for the community.
 
Don’t forget to stop by the Welcome Center located just outside the Florida Lots Entrance for giveaways,to purchase your Art All Night T-shirt, and retrieve all your event information!
 
INTERACTIVE ART:
Kristi Love presents an Adult Playground Art Installation where you may participate in making your own oversized paper dolls, “My wish for DC is…” wall, fence weaving, glow in the dark chalk outlines, and more fun for all ages.
 
FOOD & BEVERAGE:
DC’s infamous BBQ spot, DCity Smokehouse will have a pop-up station inside the Lot and a few food trucks will be on-site for your pleasure. However, Wicked Bloom, Old Engine 12, and Pub and the People are nearby destinations and each have specials featured for Art All Night. #NorthCapNightCap

Grab your glow sticks for a night full of grooving to your favorite jams under the stars. Thanks to Quiet Events we’re taking over the Bates Street Lot and turning it into a Quiet Clubbing nightclub! This unique corner spot Bates St NW and North Capitol St NW,neighboring Fresh Cut Barbershop’s iconic mural by Michael Hammond, will have your 3 DJs spinning everything to make you sing, dance, and scream making onlookers wonder why everyone is having so much fun.

TITLE OF EVENT: #All the ways we FASHION
TIME: 7pm – 12:30 am
 
Join us at the lot at the corner of New York Ave and North Capitol NE for an evening boasting fashion presentations, live music, an open air market, and live demonstrations. With the focus on fashion and style, 4 areas of activation will include runway shows, live mannequins, cocktails, artisan goods, food trucks, live music performances and more.
 
ART ON DISPLAY:
Various artists like painter Scott Gorss and cartoonist Andrew Cohen from North Capitol’s very own artist studio incubator at 52 O St. NW to feature their works
O Street visual artist, Rosetta DeBerardinis, will present her new line of original wearable art accessories and museum smalls. The line includes cufflinks, barrettes, earrings, brooches, pendants, and more. All items are one-of-a-kind and most are signed by the artist
Andrew Cohen exhibits small press comic book works and cartoonism
Julia Silverman, the Urban Hippie, uses denim jackets as her canvas to paint on. For most of her work, the design aesthetic is inspired by Mother Nature

TITLE OF EVENT: #All the ways OUT & ABOUT

Explore sculpture, paintings, live music and photography that surround the idea of the outdoors and encourage being out and about DC thanks to these local artists. REI carrying gear, apparel & footwear for a wide range of outdoor & fitness activities looks forward to sponsoring used bike parts for a Live Art Sculpture created by local artist, Ira Tattelman.
 
 
ART ON DISPLAY:
Sculpture by Ira Tattelman – ‘Messenger’. This live art piece will consist of the bicycle wheels on an armature. For a few hours from 6- 9pm viewers are able to write down a word or phrase attached to a string or ribbon, then tie them onto the wheel spokes. The interactive installation becomes a conduit for that thought or memory.
